Larimer County will not chip in to help residents being displaced from the Bender Mobile Home Park in Fort Collins.
Residents of the mobile home park, which has been sold to a developer, and Fort Collins officials asked the county to help by waiving landfill fees for disposal associated with clean-up of the neighborhood. The city will use some of its relocation funds and the developer, who plans a mixed use project on the site, have agreed to help residents.
The mobile home park is in the unincorporated county but is being annexed into the city for the new development.
The current residents, who are being displaced from their homes, do not have the money to move and many cannot find low income housing or another mobile home park that will accept their aging homes, several residents told the commissioners.
The latest on the new development slated to go in next door to our stable. Click on the www.reporterherald.com link to find out why commissioners made this decision, and what they said.

This is really saddening and I hope the people will soon find a new home for their families even without financial help.
