Much like neglected horses in the United States, donkeys in Greece have fallen victim to that country's financial crisis. Luckily for a handful of the donkeys, a rich member of the British aristocracy has come to their rescue, and offered part of her 11,000-acre estate. This Wall Street Journal video takes a look at the lucky donkeys, who live in their own "palace", eat ginger cookies, and premium hay. The eldest member of the herd, age 35, even wears her very own pink turnout blanket.
